the switchit dual-ended pastry brush has a stain-resistant silicone exterior and a hardened steel core. all switchits™ feature a hardened steel core with a heat-resistant and stain-resistant silicone exterior. the silicone is heat-resistant to 650ºF/350ºC, allowing for usage of hot oil, and is dishwasher-safe, with no subsequent hardening of the bristles. no shedding, either!
